BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young; February 19, 1970)[1She is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her portrayal of Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In recognition of her performance, she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting actress in a Drama Series in 2014. Additionally, she was a star in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young's acting career started in theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 in the role of Mary the Life. The Life. Also, she played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's show Merrily We Roll Along (1994) as well as the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her television debut in a recurring role in The NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The year 1997 was the same and in 1998, she guest starred in two roles on Law & Order. The year 1999 saw her film debut by playing one small part in the crime-drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. In the early 2000s she was invited to guest-star roles on a number of comedy and drama shows on television, which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young featured on over 30 TV shows from the years 2000 to 2011.
